Momentum Golf Logo Rebrand

I was tasked with redesigning a logo for a Golf Course Photography business.

The task was to design a logo that captured the movement of both the golf club and the lens of a camera, while also keeping the golf ball as a key component.

Ideation Stage

Idea #1:

Attempting to create motion through typography. Although I liked the idea and look, I felt it didn't capture the photography side of the business enough - an important element for the client.

Idea #2

Tried to replace the cup with a camera lens. Too complicated and hard to understand. The goal was to make the logo recognizable and understandable in seconds.

Ideas #3, #4, 5

The main part I was struggling with was incorporating the lens aspect, so I created 6 circles to try and keep my focus on that area to see what I could come up with.

This step was a big help in getting to the final product because it's how I began to visualize the logo in a clearer way.

Finished Logo

I went with green for the logo because it was both soft and represented the colour of a golf course - which is the main feature in Moment Golf's photography and videography. Client was given multiple green tones to choose from, ranging from softer to bolder tones.

I chose bold, capital letters, in a san serif font. I chose this because golf courses stand out, Momentum Golf's photography stands out, and so should their logo.
